A cold has descended across the Czech Republic: the night of Thursday to Friday, a local weather station recorded temperatures of -38 ° Celsius, said the news agency CTK on Friday.

“Last night, as well as from Friday to Saturday, will be the coldest of the year. The Big Chill will reign in the Czech Republic until mid-February, then the time will soften,” the agency quoted a spokesman for the local weather service.

According to the interlocutor of the agency, the cold over the whole territory of the country last night: -25.9 ° C in Český Dub (north) and -22.1 ° C in Karlovy Vary (northwest).
