Ukraine: the cold wave that killed 63

The cold wave that hit the Ukraine at the end of last week had 63 deaths, reported the Ukrainian Ministry of Emergency Situations citing the Ministry of Health of the country on Thursday.

According to official figures, 1,146 people suffering from hypothermia and frostbite in the last six days sought medical help , 945 of them being hospitalized. In all, the cold killed 63 including 8 hospitalized, 41 in the streets and in housing 14.

According to doctors, most deaths are due to hypothermia.

According to the Ukrainian meteorologists, the weather will remain cold in the country on February 2, the temperatures down to -25 ° C and in some regions even at -33 ° C.
