The Algerian Minister for Foreign Affairs will pay an official visit to Moscow on 12-14 December to discuss with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov ongoing conflicts in the Arab countries, reported a statement of Russian diplomacy on Saturday.
The two ministers will discuss primarily the Arab-Israeli conflict “that must be addressed on the basis of universally recognized norms of international law, including the resolutions of the Security Council of the UN, the Madrid principles and the peace initiative Arabic, “we read in the press release.
“It is very important that our countries stick to a common position on the social and political changes in some Arab countries,” the document says, adding that these processes must be exercised “through a broad national dialogue, not violence or interference. ”
The parties will also discuss the international financial crisis and its consequences, and the situation around the nuclear program of Iran.
“Moscow welcomes the balanced position of Algeria on these issues,” said the statement of Russian diplomacy.
