Tehran does not exclude preventive action

Iran does not exclude the possibility of preventive action against its opponents if its national interests are threatened, announced the deputy chief of General Staff of Iran Mohammad Hejazi, in an interview with the agency Fars on Tuesday.

“Our current strategy is such that if we feel that our opponents want to jeopardize our national interests and decide they want to do, we will take action without waiting for their actions,” said the Iranian military.

The media reported earlier that Israel was preparing to strike Iran this summer, Washington had repeatedly denied the report. Undersecretary of State Michael Hammer said recently that the U.S. did not exclude any possibility of response to the Iranian nuclear threat, while continuing to hope for a diplomatic settlement of the problem.
