Syria: Washington seeks a peaceful solution to the crisis

The United States rejects the proposal for military intervention in Syria and continue to seek a diplomatic solution to the Syrian problem, said the spokesman of the National Security Council White House Tommy Vietor on Tuesday.

“The U.S. president has repeatedly urged to immediately stop the violence in Syria. At present, our administration is seeking a more diplomatic and political crisis, than a military intervention,” said the door voice responding to the call of Republican Senator John McCain to launch an air strike against Syria.

According M.Vietor, at present, to “get political change in Syria, it is necessary to strengthen sanctions against Damascus, to block its revenue sources and to encourage the opposition to unite in preparation a transfer of power that would take into account the interests of all faiths and all ethnic groups, “concluded the representative of the U.S. administration.
