Syria: the former Jordanian foreign minister refuses to represent the Arab League

Former Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdelilah Al Khatib refused the proposal of the Arab League representative in Syria, reported  the Arab media on Tuesday.

“I have not accepted this proposal, because the situation is not entirely clear,” said Mr. Al Khatib.

The Foreign Ministers of the Arab League gathered last Sunday in Cairo, decided to appoint a special envoy of the regional organization in Syria. The Secretary General of the League, Nabil al Arabi, proposed that post Abdelilah Al Khatib.
