Russian rescuers have found more than 120 fragments of SuperJet 100, the medium-haul plane of the Russian manufacturer Sukhoi that crashed in Indonesia on May 9, reads a release of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations on Monday.
“Rescuers of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations conducted 50 raids, explored territory of 1670 square meters and have discovered more than 120 fragments of the plane,” the statement said.
711 people and fourteen pieces of equipment have been mobilized for operations. Russia has sent 84 rescuers and seven hardware units. A BK117, multipurpose helicopter of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, conducted 42 missions in the crash zone.
Monday, a cargo aircraft IL-76 in Russia must redirect the personal items of the eight Russians who died in the accident.
The airliner SSJ100, who was on a promotional tour in six Asian countries, crashed May 9 near Jakarta, hitting a steep slope of Mount Salak to 1600 meters. The aircraft was on a flight demonstration and was carrying 45 people.
