SSJ100 crash: Indonesia ends the search for victims

The operation of Indonesian rescuers to find the remains of victims of the crash of medium-range Russian Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) is complete, according to local media.

“The search for bodies ended. Nine days have passed since the time of the tragedy. Everything that could be done for victims has been done. Now we will focus on finding the second black box and other key parts of the aircraft, “said the interlocutor of the agency.

For their part, the rescuers of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations continue research bodies.

Previously, it was revealed that 15 victims of the crash had been identified.

The airliner SSJ100, who was on a promotional tour in six Asian countries, crashed Wednesday, May 9 near Jakarta, hitting a steep slope of Mount Salak to 1600 meters. It was carrying 45 people including eight Russian crew members, 35 Indonesians, one American and one French.

For now, rescuers have found only one of two black boxes of the device.
