SSJ100 crash: Indonesia continues its cooperation with Sukhoi

The aircraft manufacturer PT Dirgantara Indonesia will continue its cooperation with Russia’s Sukhoi despite the crash of a Superjet 100 medium-haul near Jakarta, reported local media on Friday.

“We continue our meetings on cooperation with the company Sukhoi.  Based on the initial plan, the meeting will take place and the cooperation still continues. We have prepared a schedule for it,,” said Budi Santoso, president of PT Dirgantara Indonesia, before announcing that the company could produce such components of SuperJet 100.

The crashed plane was in a promotional tour program to promote the brand new passenger plane produced by fighter jet producer, Sukhoi, to six countries, including Indonesia.  The aircraft was on a flight demonstration and was carrying 45 people, eight of Russians. Their bodies are already back in Moscow.

May 22, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations has terminated the search and began the repatriation of his rescuers.
