Meeting in Brussels, leaders of EU member countries have deferred to the September 2012 decision on the possible accession to the Schengen area of Romania and Bulgaria, Western agencies reported quoting the draft final declaration of the summit .
Last year, taking the appropriate decision was postponed to March 2012. Both reports are linked to the opposition of the Netherlands who call Bucharest and Sofia to improve surveillance of their borders and to intensify the fight against corruption.
Bulgaria and Romania for their completion of all requirements, which was confirmed at a summit in December 2011.
Germany, France and Finland have in turn raised their objections to giving the green light for accession.
The European Parliament recently called on the European Council to endorse the entry of Romania and Bulgaria into the Schengen area.
