Saudi Arabia closed its embassy in Syria

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia – Saudi Arabia decided to close its embassy in Damascus and recalled its diplomats and staff, announced Wednesday the official Saudi news agency.

The Saudi kingdom is one of the first Arab countries to have supported the rebellion against the Syrian regime, which began a year ago, and advocates that the international community provides assistance to armed opposition to Assad.
