Oslo releases 370 million dollars of Libyan assets to the CNT

The Sanctions Committee of the UN authorized the Norwegian government to release $ 370 million of Libyan assets to the National Transitional Council (CNT)   the French media announced referring to a statement from the Norwegian Ministry of Affairs Foreign on Wednesday.

“Norway will come into close contact with the National Transition Council to find appropriate channels to restore the means to Libya,” reads the statement.

Oslo had sent an authorization request to the UN on September 1, about one week after acknowledging the CNT as the legitimate government.

This Scandinavian country has followed the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Spain and the Netherlands who had previously announced their intention to transfer the frozen assets of the Gaddafi regime in favor of the new Libyan authorities .
