Nuclear: Tehran said it would produce 50 kg of enriched uranium.

Iran produces more than 50 kg of uranium enriched to 20%, reported the Xinhua news agency quoted Ali Asghar Soltanieh, Tehran’s ambassador to the IAEA.

At the Second International Conference on Nuclear Disarmament opened June 12 in the Iranian capital, Soltanieh said that his country needed to enrich uranium up to 120 kg for the research reactor in Tehran.

In November 2009, Iran announced plans to build ten sites to enrich uranium on its territory. Several Western countries, the United States in mind, suspect Iran of seeking to develop atomic weapons under cover of a nuclear program led, in Tehran, for peaceful purposes.
In June 2010, the Security Council of the UN adopted the fourth resolution on sanctions against Iran. The document places restrictions on the supply of conventional weapons, including missiles, tanks, attack helicopters, combat aircraft and warships.
