Nepal: A plane crash killed 19 people (agency)

This morning a small plane crashed in Nepal, leaving 19 dead, including the crew and tourists who were on board, said the agency IANS referring to government sources on Sunday.

The aircraft, a Beechcraft the private company Buddha Air, was returning to Kathmandu after a flight in the Himalayas, near Mount Everest. It crashed Kotdanda, five kilometers south of Kathmandu. The plane was carrying three Nepalese crew members, ten Indian tourists, three Nepalis, two Americans and one Japanese.

The causes of the tragedy are not yet known, the witnesses of the disaster have told reporters that the plane could have hit the roof of a house, the agency said.
