BRUSSELS – NATO has postponed the official announcement of the end of his mission to Libya because the discussions are ongoing between the UN and the transitional government, said Carmen Romero, a spokesman for the Atlantic Alliance on Wednesday. The next meeting will be held next Friday.
On Wednesday the executive of NATO were finalized the various stages of the end of its flight operation scheduled on October 31. Meanwhile, patrols will continue to ensure that violence does not resume.
Tuesday, U.S. Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta said that some Libyan officials wanted NATO to continue its mission “during the transition period, the time to install a new governance.”
