Missile defense: Iran warns the GCC

Tehran warns countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council against a missile defense project in the region with the United States, said  the Iranian news agency IRNA on Friday.

“We rejected from the start such a project is contrary to regional security and we recommend that our Arab friends not to enter such a game,” said the Iranian Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi.
According to General Washington has long tried to persuade Arab allies that the main threat for the countries of the Persian Gulf from Iran.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who participated March 31 in Riyadh at the first meeting of the forum of the United States and the six GCC countries (Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, UAE, Oman, Qatar and Kuwait) , called for establishing cooperation multilateral military to protect the territory of the six monarchies against possible attacks from Iran.
