Russia will resist a second wave of crisis, if this were to occur, said Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on speaking at the XII Congress of the United Russia party, which is taking place at Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow on Sunday.
“We have overcome the first wave of crisis. I am convinced that if necessary, we will overcome a second. We kept our jobs. We have reduced unemployment in the pre-crisis,”-he said during the conference which will be formalized during the candidacy of Vladimir Putin for the presidency in March 2012.
He said Russia shows its rate of inflation lowest since 1989, which is “a notable achievement.”
“Look what is happening around Russia, in European countries that seemed so successful in America, the Middle East, and Africa. The consequences of the global economic crisis are often frightening,” said Mr. Medvedev.
He said “Russia remains firmly on the path to stability.”
