Libyans celebrate the death of Qaddafi in Tunis

TUNISIA, Tunisia – On Thursday many Libyans in Tunisia staying marched  in several districts of Tunis to express their joy after the announcement of the death of Colonel Muammar Gaddafi.

In El Manar, dozens of cars have sirens wailing traveled the streets of this residential city near the center of the capital. Chanting “the dictator died, Libya is free”, their occupants waving tricolor flags of the revolution, by the hand of the “V” for victory.

On the social network Facebook, a video showed similar scenes apparently filmed in the city Ennass, an upscale neighborhood frequented by the Libyans. Dozens of protesters walked the main street, shouting “victory”.

The transitional government of Tunisia did not respond immediately to the announcement of the death of Moammar Gadhafi, but the Prime Minister Beji Caid Essebsi, would address the nation at 20h local time, according to a member of its services on condition of anonymity.
