Libya: the opposition begins delivering oil to the United States.

On Thursday, according to CNN the Libyan opposition, which controls the eastern part of the country carried out its first shipment of oil to the United States.

According to American diplomacy, an agreement was signed on May 25 between the Corporation of U.S. oil refining Tesoro and the Transitional National Council on the delivery of 1.2 million barrels of crude oil per year. The transaction amount was not disclosed.


The State Department said that U.S. officials contend the oil purchases in the National Transition Council to secure additional sources of revenue for the civilian population Jamahiriya.
