Iranian President postpones visit to Armenia

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has delayed a one-day visit to Armenia planned for Monday, an Armenian presidential spokesperson said on Monday.

“The visit will be held at a more convenient time,” spokesperson Armen Arzumanyan said, without giving additional information.

Akmadinejad was due to hold meetings with Armenian President Serzh Sargasyan and other top officials and sign a range of bilateral economic agreements.

Some Armenian experts believe that the cause of the Iranian president’s visit failure to Yerevan may be internal problems in Iran.

The visit of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to Armenia postponed because  its necessary that  Yerevan has to clarify its position on certain issues. The head of the parliamentary faction of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation “Dashnakcutyun”  Vahan Hovhannisyan made a statement about this  at the meeting with reporters.
