Iran has promised to allow inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to visit its nuclear site of Parchin, reported the international media on Tuesday, referring to the Iranian agency ISNA.
“The fact is that Parchin is a military site, access requires a lengthy procedure. That’s why visits can not be permitted frequently […] However, we will let the IAEA go there again “we read in a statement released by the Iranian representative to the Agency.
An IAEA delegation visited Iran in the second half of February. Inspectors were unable to visit Parchin suspected by the Agency to host an underground facility used for Tehran’s nuclear program. The Iranian authorities initially said that the inspection of nuclear sites was not included in the program of the visit, but then said that the delegation itself had refused to go to Parchin.
The IAEA experts visited Iran twice since the beginning of the year. The first visit took place from January 29 to 31.
