Interpol seeks Gaddafi and his son

On Friday Interpol has issued a “red notice“, a search international, against Colonel Muammar Gaddafi, his son Saif al-Islam and the former head of military intelligence Abdullah al-Senussi.

In a statement, the International Criminal Police Organization states that the “red notice” was issued through the Interpol National Central Bureau at the request of the Attorney General of the International Criminal Court Luis Moreno-Ocampo.

These “red notices” are distributed to the 188 Interpol member countries using its communications system. They serve to inform the police around the world that a suspect is wanted by a member country and request the provisional arrest of the suspect pending his extradition.
