Germany: two suspected Syrian spies arrested in Berlin

The German Federal Prosecutor’s agents have arrested in Berlin two suspected Syrian spies on Tuesday, reported the press service of the prosecution in a statement.

“Those arrested, Mahmoud el Akhram A. and W., are believed to have guarded for many years members of the Syrian opposition in Germany on behalf of Syrian intelligence,” we read in the paper.

According to the prosecution, Mahmoud el A., aged 47, is a citizen of Lebanon and Germany, Akhram O., 34, is a Syrian national.

Agents of the prosecution conducted a search of the suspects in the apartments and homes in six others. Nearly 70 representatives of law enforcement took part in the operation.
