The president and his wife Carla Bruni visited the polling station of La Fontaine High School located in the sixteenth arrondissement. Once there, M.Sarkozy took the time to greet his supporters gathered at the entrance to the school.
After sliding the ballots in the box, the presidential couple left the office to get to the Elysee Palace where they will await the official results.
M.Sarkozy’s rival, Francois Hollande, voted earlier in the day in the town of Tulle, in Correze.
According to recent polls of public opinion, from 46.5 to 47.5% of French people are ready to vote for the incumbent.
