Unusual incident happened in three European countries in the evening on May 30. Explosions in IKEA furniture stores in the city of Ghent in Belgium, Eindhoven (Netherlands) and in Lille (France).
The first mini-explosion in the IKEA store in Ghent, Belgium. After received warnings in the warehouse two alarms exploded, reported the Belgian news agency Belga.
As a result of the accident no one was seriously hurt. Several IKEA staff members complained about the hard of hearing, reported by Swedish Portal.
Later the same day in the IKEA store in Dutch Eindhoven trash container exploded. A third explosion occurred near Lille in northern France. Police evacuated shoppers.
The representative of IKEA Ylva Magnusson stated that the loud bangs were caused by triggered low-powered fireworks. She also denied media reports about the supposedly warning form of calls or threatening letters before the explosions.
All IKEA stores in Europe opened normally on Tuesday morning.
