Exercises US / Seoul: North Korea threatens to increase its nuclear arsenal

On Tuesday morning Pyongyang threatens to increase its nuclear arsenal in response to maneuvers involved by Washington and Seoul, called “Freedom Guardian” (“Guardian of Freedom”), international media reported in reference to a North Korean diplomatic source on Wednesday.

“Dissertation on the dialogue, the United States are preparing in fact a war of aggression against their partner in the negotiations (on the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, ed) … It is obvious that in this situation, Pyongyang needs to strengthen its own nuclear means of intimidation to defend themselves, “said the diplomat.

He did not specify how North Korea intends to strengthen its nuclear shield. We assume that Pyongyang now has enough plutonium to make at least six nuclear warheads.

Last November, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) claimed to have a uranium enrichment company that allowed him to make an atomic bomb.

Maneuvers US-South Korean held every year and the two countries allies describe as usual defense exercises, but Pyongyang condemns them regularly, saying they intended to prepare an invasion of the northern peninsula.

In early August, Pyongyang asked Seoul and Washington to cancel the exercises, if they wanted a thawing of relations and the denuclearization of the peninsula.
