Embargo against Iran: Israel supports the EU

In an interview with the head of European diplomacy Catherine Ashton, visiting Israel, the Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs Avigdor Lieberman has supported the oil embargo imposed by the EU against Iran.

The Israeli foreign minister said his country welcomed the decision of the EU, while stating that it “should pay special attention to the growing interference of Iran in the situation in Iraq, and that its business to strengthen the Assad regime in Syria. ”

In addition, the parties discussed the resumption of negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians. Lieberman stressed that the EU should condemn a statement by the Mufti of Jerusalem Mohammad Hussein who said “The Hour (of Resurrection) will not come until you fight the Jews” on Sunday.

According to Israeli media, the purpose of the visit of Catherine Ashton in Israel is to persuade the parties to resume the Israeli-Palestinian dialogue.
