Egypt: protesters continue to occupy Tahrir Square

Several hundred protesters continue to occupy Tahrir Square in downtown Cairo after a night of clashes with the police, announced the correspondent of local media on Sunday.

“We will not leave the place until we will find that it has ceased to deceive us! The revolution did not change anything in life, pursuing the military policy of Mubarak,” said one of the demonstrators .

Saturday, violent clashes between police and protesters demanding the departure of Marshal Tantawi, who heads the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (AFSC), the depositary of power since the fall of President Hosni Mubarak on February 11.

According to the Egyptian Ministry of Health, these clashes left two dead and nearly 750 injured.
