Death of Gaddafi: Ban Ki-moon called the Libyans to reconciliation

Announcement: On Thursday the death of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi ousted marks a historic transition in Libya, said the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, calling the fighters on both sides to lay down arms and come together in peace, media reports.

“The fighters on both sides must lay down their arms and come together in peace. It is time to rebuild and heal wounds, it is time for generosity not for revenge,” said Mr. Ban.

According to press reports, former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi died of wounds suffered in his capture near his hometown of Sirte, as a result of his injuries after being captured by fighters of the new Libyan government while trying to escape the city of Sirte on Thursday.
