China denounces Pentagon report on military power

Beijing strongly condemned the annual report on the military power of China, published Aug. 24 by the Pentagon announced  the Chinese Ministry of Defense on Friday.

“The Report on military development and security of China in 2011 ignores the actual facts and criticizes the country for its efforts to modernize its military and strengthen its national defense,” said the spokesman of the ministry, Yang Yujun, adding that these actions “were a common practice in other countries around the world.”

According to the spokesman, the report exaggerates “the alleged threat” of China against Taiwan and “calls into question the policy without any basis in the country’s space research and securing its computer networks.”

The publication  of reports convinced that the potential Chinese military violates the Sino-US relations, Beijing invited the Pentagon to stop the preparation of such documents, said Yang Yujun.
