China: Colombian model arrested with cocaine risk the death penalty

She had to participate this weekend in the Miss World contest in Medellin, Colombia. Juliana Lopez, a dummy 22, now faces the death penalty. The young Colombian was arrested July 18 in Canton Airport (China), suspected of transporting cocaine in her luggage, and more specifically in her computer, according to the New York Daily News.

The young woman, also in a Colombian footballer local team, is owned in China where she had arrived two weeks earlier, according to the Colombian newspaper El Tiempo. She continued detention for product psychoactive, a crime punishable by the death penalty or life imprisonment in that country.

“My heart tells me that she is not guilty”

According to the same media, Juliana Lopez family is desperately trying to help by turning to the embassy of her country. Her coach in the football team, Alejandro Duque, explained that he wanted to organize a charity match to allow her mother and a lawyer to visit China. He explained that the young student was a “good girl,” always involved in his team.

Her friend, Lily Hernandez, also assured that she went to China to collect clothing and souvenirs she wanted to sell her return. “My heart tells me that she is not guilty, the young man said. Do not condemn again, I hope that she is innocent and everything is cleared up.”
