“Despite significant progress in several sectors of the economy, we are still only the beginning, and we must work harder in order to succeed,” said M.Karzaï.
He said the education system in the country has been hit hard by the military conflict which left two generations of Afghans the opportunity to study.
So far, 4.2 million Afghan children are deprived of school in the south, west and in some other parts of the country, informed the president. At the same time, M.Karzaï urged young people to study foreign languages more intensively.
“I invite you to learn English, French and German so you can continue your studies in institutions of higher education abroad,” said the president.
