KABUL -On Saturday at least two Afghan civilians, including a three year old girl, were killed and 77 U.S. soldiers were wounded in a suicide attack against the base of Sayed Abad in Wardak province (eastern Afghanistan) , said the NATO International security Assistance Force (ISAF) on Sunday.
The attack, claimed by the Taliban on the eve of 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11, saw a truck bomb loaded with timber exploded at the entrance of the outpost. The blast destroyed nearby shops and blew out windows of government buildings, said Roshanak Wardak, a former member who now runs a clinic in the region.
Its establishment was particularly welcomed eight of the 25 Afghan civilians wounded. Two of them, severely affected, have been transferred to Kabul.
