23 bodies found in northern Mexico

MEXICO CITY – On Friday Mexican authorities announced that 23 people were killed in an explosion of violence linked to drug cartels in the city of Nuevo Leon in the north-east.

The assassins were hanged the bodies of nine victims under a bridge and dropped 14 decapitated bodies in a vehicle.

An official of the State of Tamaulipas passed the information under the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss it publicly.

The city of Nuevo Leon, located near Laredo, Texas, is torn by war between the cartel Zetas and the Gulf cartel.

Last month, 14 mutilated bodies were discovered in an abandoned vehicle in the center of the city.
