WASHINGTON – On Friday the Obama administration renewed its support to the demonstrators that Egyptian call for a more rapid transition to democracy after the fall of the regime of Hosni Mubarak in February.
“The United States firmly believe that the new Egyptian government must have real authority immediately,” said the White House in a statement. “We believe that Egypt’s transition to democracy must continue, with elections taking place soon and taking all necessary measures to ensure safety and prevent bullying.”
“Above all, we believe that the complete transfer of power to a civilian government must be conducted in a fair and inclusive that meets the legitimate aspirations of the people,” said the White House reaffirmed that “the U.S. will continue to support the Egyptian people in their construction of a democracy worthy of the great history of Egypt. “
