More than 200 people gathered in San Francisco (California) to show solidarity with protest actions against the results of the Russian legislation on December 4, reported correspondent in Washington on Sunday.
“Thanks to all who attended the meeting ony! We were 200 in mid-day. Do not stop, the struggle for a new Russia is just beginning,” launched the organizers of the manifesation on their Facebook page.
The protesters carried placards with the slogans “They stole my voice”, “We demand a new election” and “For fair elections”. The event took place without incident.
On Saturday similar rallies were also held in Washington and New York.
Saturday, December 10th, demonstrations against the résulats Russian parliamentary elections were held in Moscow and several other cities. The meeting held on Bolotnaya place in the center of the capital brought together tens of thousands of protesters.
Friday night, the Central Election Commission announced the final results of elections to the Duma, virtually identical to preliminary results. They endorse the victory of United Russia, the ruling party who obtains an absolute majority (238 seats). It is followed by the Communist Party (92 seats), just Russian (64 seats), and LDPR Liberal Democratic Party (56).
