Prosecutor was ready to drop the charges against DSK

NEW YORK – The prosecutor of New York is about to drop the charges against  because of doubts hanging over the credibility of his accuser, reported the New York Post on Tuesday.

“Leading champagne, DSK,” quips the U.S. daily, adding that Cyrus Vance Jr. could make a decision before the next hearing scheduled for July 18.

The New York Post quoted a “senior investigator” who speaks of “certainty” the prosecutor’s decision in New York. ” “We all know this case is not sustainable.”

The prosecutor admitted Friday that the credibility of the maid of Sofitel, which accuses the former director general of the International Monetary Fund attempted rape was impaired by lies.

“She is not to be believed in anything that comes out of her mouth – which is a shame, because now we may never know what happened in that hotel room,” said the source. “Did [Strauss-Kahn] use force? Was there actually a crime? I don’t think we’ll ever know.”

On Friday a court in Manhattan had already noted questioned the housekeeper and agreed to release Dominique Strauss-Kahn on parole.

Attorney of New York announced that the investigation was continuing in that there is evidence that sex took place between the maid and Dominique Strauss-Kahn in his suite at the Sofitel on May 14.
