New York judge authorizes the continuation of civil proceedings against DSK

NEW YORK, NY – Judge Douglas McKeon of Bronx Supreme Court Tuesday authorized the continuation of civil proceedings brought against Dominique Strauss-Kahn Nafissatou by Diallo, the maid at the Sofitel New York accusing the former head of IMF for having attempted to rape her in May 2011.

Criminal prosecutions were abandoned last summer by the New York court because of lies and contradictions of the complainant, casting doubt on its reliability. But Nafissatou Diallo was then brought a civil complaint against the former French minister. Lawyers for the latter had requested that no further complaint, highlighting the diplomatic immunity of their client.
