Iran: massive anti-US demonstration in Tehran

Thousands of Iranians demonstrate in Tehran to mark the 32nd anniversary of the storming of the U.S. embassy by students,  reported  RIA correspondent on the spot on Friday.

Gathered outside the closed building of the Embassy of the United States, nicknamed the “nest of spies”, the protesters brandished banners proclaiming “Death to Israel”, or “The United States are sponsors of terrorism. ”

On November 4, 1979, students stormed the U.S. embassy before taking hostage 52 diplomats were detained for 444 days. Diplomatic relations between Tehran and Washington were subsequently broken.

This year’s anti-American demonstrations are held against the backdrop of new accusations against Tehran by Washington, which accuses Iran of having been involved in a plot to assassinate the Saudi ambassador to the United States.

According to estimates by Iranian authorities, about 3 million people participate in demonstrations on Friday.
