Fire in Colorado: Thousands of evacuees

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Thousands of Colorado residents were evacuated from their homes because of wildfires that devastated part of this current state of the western United States.

Colorado has not seen such fires over the past ten years. Some hotels and campgrounds located in risk areas are deserted. Eleven thousand inhabitants, as well as tourists, have particularly been ordered to evacuate near Colorado Springs, where a forest fire broke out on Saturday.

Even if there are other large fires in the western United States, fires in Colorado now mobilizing half the means of fire protection in the United States, Governor of Colorado, John Hickenlooper. He said the military transport aircraft C-130, came from Peterson AFB, Colorado Springs, would be mobilized to help.

Colorado authorities have banned campfires and shooting fireworks for over a week.
