Fiat is said to have increased its stake in Chrysler to 58.5%

MILAN / DETROIT (Reuters) – On Thursday Fiat is said it had increased its stake in Chrysler by 5% to 58.5%, after pledging to assemble a vehicle with low fuel consumption in a U.S. plant.

On Wednesday Chrysler and Fiat officially pledged to the Treasury of the United States to produce sedans Dodge Dart on one of the sites of the American manufacturer.

Fiat is in control of Chrysler operational since the latter gave a brief filed for bankruptcy in 2009. The group held so far 53.5% of the share capital in issue three of the automobile in the United States.
