“American Idol” returns tonight for the season 11

American Idol season 11 It was believed the issue on the downward slope. Last year “American Idol” had everything to prove after the departure of Simon Cowell, the most emblematic and swore we thought irreplaceable. But by hiring Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler and betting on a more positive atmosphere, the show was a surprise, halting its fall audience started several seasons ago.

Thus, the general public, season 10 was attended by 22.8 million viewers, against 22.0 million for the previous season. The program still displays a slight decrease on the target fetish advertisers, 18-49 years, from 10.3 million followers on that target to 9.7 million. But it remains a number of hearings across the Atlantic, programs and series combined. And if, qualitatively, the candidates may not have been more interesting to follow throughout the season, the show has managed to create a star that sells discs, the latest winners have had great difficulty to perform . Sacred winner in May 2011, Scotty McCreery has indeed installed top-selling album in the U.S. in October with his first album “Clear as Day”, which passed the one million mark copies.

In early 2012, things have changed a bit for “American Idol”, but not as much as the producers could have feared. The successful launch of “The Voice” on NBC last year was no shade at “Idol” and especially, the arrival in the fall of “The X Factor” – released as “Idol” on Fox – has not had the expected success, signing hearings less than half those of her older sister. For its return tonight, “American Idol” remains the biggest hits of American television, by far, and yet seems to have bright future.
