SAN FRANCISCO – The popular American painter Thomas Kinkade, known as the “painter of light”, has died in California at the age of 54. His family said his death would be attributable to “natural causes”.
Mr. Kinkade was world famous for its pastel-colored paintings representing everyday life.
Copies of his paintings were reproduced in series, and marketed greeting cards, calendars and books in particular. Sales totaled more than $ 100 million per year.
