The micro-blogging site is used by many sites for sharing their content. However, it is impossible to accurately measure the traffic of Internet users clicking on the links to visit the website in question. Google Analytics provides in part to see this traffic, but it is not a solution.
Twitter is a Web Analytics tool that allows site administrators to know what the traffic they receive from Twitter and the effectiveness of the integration of Twitter on their site. Twitter says that the arrival of this tool was made possible through the acquisition of BackType last July.

To understand what part of the site content shared on Twitter
To see the amount of people coming from Twitter
Measure the effectiveness of integration of Tweet button
Later this week the tool will be deployed in a small group of partners and will be available to all directors of websites in the coming weeks.
