In short – Anonymous hackers: 25 members arrested

Paris – Interpol announced yesterday the arrest of 25 alleged members of Anonymous hackers movement during raids conducted in Europe and South America. The international police agency said in a statement that the arrests in Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Spain were carried out by national staff working with the support of the group of experts in technological crime Interpol Latin America .

The suspects, aged 17 to 40, are suspected of planning coordinated cyber attacks against certain institutions, including the Colombian Ministry of Defense, the Chilean power company Endesa and the National Library of Chile. The arrests form part of an investigation launched in mid-February, which also resulted in the seizure of 250 technology tools in 40 locations in 15 cities.
