IBM acquires Merge Healthcare for $ 1 billion

Health is one of the key areas where IBM relies to monetizing its platform Watson. The system Artificial Intelligence is the basis for the deployment of various services analytics in the cloud. Regularly, Big Blue adds a new brick

This is again the case with the acquisition of Merge Healthcare for $ 1 billion. This North American company specializes in medical imaging and its technology is found including radiology, cardiology, ophthalmology and orthopedics. IBM account associate with Watson to provide analysis based services medical imaging, which can for example be used for radiologists interpret results. The idea is to cross heterogeneous sources as medical images, genetic tests and other laboratory tests.

The acquisition of Merge Healthcare will be finalized by the end of the year.
