Google results better than expected

SAN FRANCISCO – The uncertain economic climate did not stop Google in its growth. The company earned profits of $ 2.7 billion last quarter, up 26 percent over the previous year.

Analysts bet on a slight slowdown in the growth of Google, based on the assumption that the economic turmoil of the summer have an impact on advertising revenues.

The company added 2,600 employees to its workforce during the quarter, bringing the total to 31,500.
