After several weeks of beta, Google Chrome continues its development cycle, and now in version 17 stable. It brings especially new under the hood, as the function of preloading pages which is improved.
The “Instant Pages” Google Chrome was previously limited to Google’s search results. The principle of this function is that the software preload search results of interest to the user as it types its query. In this version, it works for any term typed in the address bar, and push the browser to preload the pages the user is most likely to visit. This allows a faster display of pages.
Also note the arrival of a function “Safe Browsing”, which is responsible for using Google to check the provenance of an executable file when downloading it is not part of a white list. The browser can then warn the user of the potential presence of malware in their downloads.
