Facebook + Websense = bye-bye malicious links

A partnership between Mark Zuckerberg’s social network and security company Websense will help to eliminate any malicious links posted on Facebook.

Thus, “when a user clicks on a URL that was posted on Facebook, this link will be sent to Websense to verify the integrity,” says the editor. The principle is quite simple, since the system will work in real time, and when Websense detects an unsafe URL that the user has clicked on will be notified of the danger further.

Websense will not have access to private information of users. In any case, Facebook’s assertion, which states that its action is limited to check the links when clicked.

The two partners have not yet announced official launch date.
