Swimming: Russia’s Natalia Ishchenko won in solo technical

SHANGHAI (Reuters) – Russia’s Natalia Ishchenko won for the third time on the title of world champion in solo synchronized swimming technique in Shanghai on Sunday.

Natalia Ishchenko, 25, won her 11th world title with a total of 98.30 points. Huang Xuechen second with 96.50 points, becoming the first Chinese to win a silver medal in the solo. The Spanish Andrea Fuentes completed the podium with 95.30 points.

Now Natalia Ishchenko must take part in competitions in duet and team, where she hopes to win new gold medals.

The first part of the world championships is dedicated to diving, swimming and synchronized swimming in white water.

The swimming race events start on Sunday, July 24.
